๐ฉGudipadwa ๐ฉ
On Wednesday 22 March 2023, Gudhipadwa, a festival considered as one of the three and a half muhurtas, will be celebrated. Why is Gudipadwa celebrated? So these mythological stories are related to Gudipadva, let's find out.
In Indian culture, there is a tradition of celebrating 'Chaitra Shuddha Pratipada' as a 'Maha Parva' day. On this first day of Mahaparva or New Year, we celebrate this day as 'Gudhipadwa' to make a new resolution and start moving towards progress. On this day, a Gudi is erected in the courtyard of the house as a symbol of victory. Why is this temple erected? Why Gudipadava Chaitra is celebrated only in pure Pratipada? Why is Lord Brahma worshiped before the Gudhi is erected and Lord Vishnu is worshiped after the Gudhi is erected? Everything is hidden in these stories, then these mythological stories must be known to all. King Shalivahana started the Shalivahana Shaka and the beginning of this Shaka is Gudipadva. Shalivahana Raja is still important as the first Maharashtrian king to start the Shaka era. Shalivahana created an army of mud, sprinkled water on it and infused life into the army of mud. Then, with the help of these forces, he defeated formidable enemies, according to legend. For this victory, Shalivahana can be started and the new year begins. On this day, it is customary to welcome the Hindu New Year by reading Panchag and worshiping Goddess Saraswati. One of the reasons for celebrating Gudhipadwa is also found in Mahabharata. According to this, in the Adiparva of the Mahabharata, a king named Uparichar planted a stick of Kalka given to him by Indra as an obeisance to Indra and worshiped that stick the next day. This day was the first day of the new year, so there is a legend that Gudhipadwa is celebrated. This is the holy day when Lord Brahma created creation. Lord Brahma created the universe on the day of Padava and hence the "Satya-yuga" began and hence Chaitra Shukla Pratipada i.e. Gudhipadava is said to be celebrated as the new year.On this day, cosmic energy and prajapati waves are emitted in large quantities and through Gudhi we try to accumulate that adhikah. Lord Vishnu took the form of a fish and killed Shankasura, that fish-shaped Vishnu was born of Chaitra-Suddha Pratipada. Shankhasura was a mighty demon born from the ocean and always residing in the ocean. This demon forcibly took the Vedas and sat down at the bottom of the ocean. Then the gods and goddesses, the sages, awakened Lord Vishnu who was in yogic sleep in Kshirasagar and asked Shankhasura to teach him a lesson. Lord Vishnu took the form of a fish and discovered the whereabouts of Shankhasura and while about to behead him, Shankhasura said, "I ran the Vedas only so that I may die at your hands." You must kill me; But my one wish is that you should always hold my art in your left hand and grant me that your worship will not be complete unless you bathe yourself in the water of my art's touch.” Lord Vishnu said 'Tathastu' and killed Shankhasura. From that day Vishnu carried the conch shell in his hand. Gudhi is not only Brahmadhwaj but also Vijayadhwaj. When "Shri Ram" returned to Ayodhya after his victory over Lanka, the subjects welcomed him with great joy by hoisting flags. It is said that Lord Rama's fourteen years of exile ended on the day of Chaitra Shuddha Pratipada, so this day of joyous celebration is celebrated.
Also, it is said that on Chaitra Suddha Pratipada, Lord Rama killed Vali and freed his subjects from his torture; It is the day of Victory Festival. Gudhi is an indicator that Rama destroyed Vali and demonic forces from the house with divine power.๐ฉ๐ฉ
